During my summer internship at NASA Ames Research Center in 2018 I worked on future vertiport concepts for Urban Air Mobolity (UAM). My partner, Katherine Adams, and I were tasked with researching the current state of the art in UAM, and the proposed vertiport concepts from the 2018 Uber Elevate Summit. Our objective was to find which of the proposed designs would have the best functionality for both people and the vertical take of and landing vehicles (VTOL).
