Tesla Model S Motor Controller Heat Sink
For the final project in heat transfer I was tasked with designing a heat sink to disipate a minimum of 300W from a Tesla Model S motor controller. The heat sink is limited to a maximum area of 250 mm x 250 mm and a height of 100 mm. The motor controller temperature limit was 80°C, ambient operating temperature was 25°C and a fan was provided that could provide a maximum velocity of 2 m/s over the heat sink.
